And we proved again that our operating style produces maximum number of QSOs even if not in the optimum geographical location (EA8, CT3). We set ourselves two goals, achieve 34M points and cross 20k QSOs. We knew the 20k QSOs would be extremely hard from TK, still if high bands would be open a bit longer ... The count of in-band QSOs is at 22% (4k) which is a lot for a MM. We love to be transparent and we have been constantly sharing all of our "secrets" from the start - with a simple goal to equip our competitors with knowledge so that our hobby will improve and the fun will continue (think of in-band as a version of 2BSIQ, also a new operating technique that refreshed the contesting "spirit"). It should be noted that in-band style only has one hard part (antenna isolation) while the other two (TX sequencing and operating skill) are trivial. We see now that other Multi teams are slowly adopting this technique. Conditions were good but never good enough :) The impact of high A-index was clearly present on Saturday. And lower activity on low bands when 10m is wide open is a fact. We need to point again that this is a pure field day style operation - all the equipment transported in one van from S5 to TK, set-up in 4 days, dismantled in 6 hours and brought back home - the contest expedition of 10 days. Equipment: 12x RIG (FTdx101, FTdx10 and TS590) 6x PA (OM-power and SSPA) 6x TX sequencing box (2na1 and 3na1) 3x RX switch box (6na4) 6x local SDR with CW skimmer Antennas: 160m: Inv-L 50m from the sea shore (TX only) 80m: full size vertical 40m from the sea shore (TX only) 40m: two phased verticals toward north 20m from the sea shore (TX only) + 2x two phased verticals, one toward NE and one toward NW 15m from the sea shore (RX only) + 4SQ 100m from the sea shore (TX and RX, for in-band only, chasing mults in southern hemisphere) 20m: 3el Yagi at 10m and 100m from the sea shore + VDA 20m from the sea shore 15m: 4el Yagi at 10m and 100m from the sea shore + VDA 10m from the sea shore 10m: 5el Yagi at 10m and 100m from the sea shore + VDA 10m from the sea shore + 4el Yagi 200m away, 60m from the sea shore fixed to NE or NW BVG used on 160m, 80m and 40m: 280m to NW, 160m to NE, 120m to N, to S and to SW TNX for the calling us and TNX for calling CQ even if not seriously taking part in the competition :) TeamC
